Columbus has been recognized as the 11th-most military-friendly city by MilitaryFriendly.com.
Criteria used to rank 381 metropolitan areas nationwide included cost of living, unemployment rate and amount of military-friendly jobs and schools. Columbus was lauded for its low cost of living and unemployment rate, as well as its large pool of opportunities.
?We are proud to be recognized for our favorable cost of living and unemployment rate, but even more proud of the initiatives that help veterans thrive once they have served their country,? Kenny McDonald, chief economic officer for Columbus 2020, said in a press release.
Also making the top 50 were Cincinnati (No. 14), Cleveland (16), Dayton (27), Akron (29) and Youngstown (46).
