World University Badminton Championship: Saya Yamamoto overpowers Elsie De Villiers in style

Japan?s emerging female player Saya Yamamoto showed a terrific performance on court and won her Women?s Singles battle against Elsie De Villiers in a team-event match between Japan and South Africa at the 12th World University Badminton Championship on Tuesday, November 6, in Korea.

The impressive Saya, who has been working well in training sessions, proved that she has got elevated skills on court as she did not face even a slight problem in crushing her opponent in a one-sided fashion with in just 18 minutes.

Saya was impressive in her positive and aggressive play as she did not show any mercy to her South African challenger and thrashed her by winding up the fight in straight games with a huge margin on the score board.

On the other hand, Elsie could not produce better form as she was proved vulnerable in all aspects for her opponent and eventually went down in a completely one-sided way without proving her worth.

In the opening game of this competition, Saya showed a wonderful aggression on court from the initial points and remained successful in constructing a wonderful lead on score board.

The tempo of the rallies was absolutely fast in the opening game and Saya entertained local fans with her impressive craft. Until the mid-game interval, the lofty Japanese shuttler was leading the game with a huge gap on the score board.

After the one-minute interval, the in-form Saya stayed quite focused on court as she continued playing positive and aggressive badminton and maintained her supremacy in the arena.

Saya?s positive and attacking play with incredible speed in the arena helped her to claim the opening round encounter with a completely dominating fashion by a stunning 21-4 score on the board.

In the second game, the impressive Saya played in the similar stunning manner as she remained aggressive and managed to stay ahead until the one-minute break.

After the mid-game interval, Saya?s remarkable smashes and spinning net shots helped her to remain in complete control of rallies and managed to win the second game with a stunning 21-6 score on the board.

The lofty Saya remained successful in winning this battle in a lopsided fashion with a tremendous margin of 21-4 and 21-6.
