The core of the heat is anchored over much of the Central Plains and Midwest where triple digit heat is forecast through the entire weekend.? Below is our FutureSky Forecast Temperatures.? Note our model?s forecast for St. Louis is 104 degrees.? The National Weather Service in St. Louis is predicting an even hotter 108 degrees today and 106 degrees tomorrow!

Heat Advisories are in orange.??Excessive Heat Watches?in dark red?with Excessive Heat Warnings in magenta.? Interestingly, the various advisories are in place because of the unusually hot air temperatures and not for high humidity.? For much of the country, the Heat Index will not be much above the actual air temperature.
The heat should peak today for much of the country.? High temperatures will ease back this weekend for all areas as the ridge loses some of its intensity.
